Nickel-Chrome Strip

Our standard offering of nickel chrome strip products contain a chrome percentage ranging from 20%, 30% and 35% chrome (balance nickel). Silicon can also be added to the product to promote de-oxidation during the welding process The 35% chrome (AMETEK 835) is one of the highest chrome containing products offered in the industry and our high purity process allows for elongations above 45% for even those products containing silicon additions between 1% and 2%.
Weld Wire Applications
Our materials are used for weld wire sheathing material in both flux cored wire and metal cored welding wire processes. Our customers wire operates in applications such as steam boilers and associated piping in the in the harshest high temperatures and corrosive environments.
Thermal Spray
The 35% chrome alloy allows wire manufactures to push the boundaries of chrome content in the final wire products used in thermal spray operations, specifically in coating boiler tubes during power plant maintenance. As a complementary project, silicon is available in addition to our sheathing materials to aid in thermal spray applications.
